Hello and Happy Fall!
I recently offered a book giveaway on Facebook and was so pleased to see so many historical
fiction fans signing up for a chance to win The Distant Hours by Kate Morton and The Winter
Sea by Susanna Kearsley. These books are all about journeys to the past. And who doesn’t love
being transported to another time and place, especially with a gothic touch?
Just right for a moonlit night during the haunting season. My favorite time of year!
And speaking of haunting…my second novel, The House on Chambers Road, is forthcoming
from Literary Wanderlust. I hope by New Year’s, but we’ll see. It’s a dual timeline mystery that
delves into love, loss, and redemption with a nod to all things gothic and ghostly.
Here’s a sneak peek into what it’s all about:
Sometimes the past that comes back to haunt you isn’t yours…
Interior designer Libby Casey desperately wants to move on from her grief and the painful secret
that has plagued her since her husband’s death. When she buys an 18 th century house on the
outskirts of town that she feels mysteriously drawn to, she thinks she has a chance to do just that.
But soon after moving in, she finds she’s not alone.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned. I hope to have a book cover to share with you soon.
Meanwhile, I’m still doing events for Clara in a Time of War. I hope to line up a few more for
the winter months.
Cheers and Happy Cider Drinking. Bottoms up!
Afterthoughts: Any Daphne du Maurier fans out there? I’ve just started My Cousin Rachel and I
have to say, what a treat! It’s moody, gothic, and provocative, with a first chapter that is a master
class in how to write an opening. Try it and let me know what you think.
