On the Road

It’s been a wonderful (and very busy!) journey since my book was published last month.
Since this is my first published novel, and my first attempt to take something on the
road, I wasn’t sure how it would go. Would anyone want to get in a car and drive in
order to hear about my protagonist and her troubles, about the war that was changing
her life, about the lives of women in the 18 th century?
As it turns out, yes! And I am truly grateful.
I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me and my book by listening,
reading, discussing, and wanting to know more. From the friends and neighbors who
attended my fabulous book launch at Historic Waynesborough to the wonderful folks at
Surrey Senior Services, from the libraries and community groups who have included me
in their programs to the historical societies and historic sites who are hosting me around
the area, I am very much obliged.
I hope to be out on the road with Clara for some time to come. Maybe I will see you
there. And remember, if you have a book club or other group who might enjoy a visit
and some chat, I am always eager to make that happen.
